Provide high-level complex accounting technical and system support to ensure the financial integrity of information posted to the General Ledger and/or other accounting systems within Accounting & Financial Reporting (AFR). Perform research, analysis, risk mitigation and reconciliations of accounts ensuring the accurate application of Port policies and procedures, GAAP, regulations and laws.

Comprehend and apply broad and complex accounting standards and concepts to assigned area(s) of responsibility. Identify and mitigate operational, accounting, financial reporting and control risks.
Assess completeness of Revenue recognition.
Review lease agreements, and setup revenue recognition processes for complex Lease agreements, with multiple provisions.
Perform backup for Billing Manager on operations, and review the work of Billing Team as assigned by the Billing Manager.
Provide year-end Signatory Lease and Operating Agreement (SLOA) reconciliation, true-up entries, and monthly SLOA accrual entries, previously reviewed by Billing Manager or Assistant Director.
Prepare or review year-end audit schedules for Billing Manager or Assistant Director to review, and answer any questions from the auditors and/or Manager.
Serve as backup of approving Billing and AR journals when Billing Manager or AR Manager is not available.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proficiency with computer-based applications including lease billing-related systems such as Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft. Must have advanced knowledge of accounting, a solid foundation and understanding of basic accounting principles and an understanding of PeopleSoft Financials.
Detail-oriented, highly analytical with ability to pinpoint discrepancies immediately. Excellent time management, organizational, problem-solving, and forward-planning skills. Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task and possess a sense of urgency in getting the job done without sacrificing quality while meeting deadlines. Must always maintain a high level of confidentiality with a high degree of professionalism. Commitment to deliver excellent customer service in providing support to internal and external clients.
