Under the direction of center supervisor, manage and train customer service staff; operate a centralized telephone system; provide general and specific information to visitors; register participants for a variety of Park District programs and services; receive, sort, distribute and process incoming and outgoing mail; perform a variety of clerical support duties as assigned.
In the absence of the supervisor, the assistant supervisor will be responsible for the function of the building and all customer-related activities with the intention of the assistant supervisor working staggered shifts to maximize supervisory staff coverage, especially during evenings and weekends.

Operate a centralized telephone system, directing calls to appropriate personnel, departments and offices. Receive and transmit messages, provide general information, assistance and direction to callers and visitors concerning Park District functions, events, facilities and programs.
Answer telephones, greet and announce arrival of visitors. Provide information or refer to proper department or individual.
Act as building supervisor when supervisor is not at the center.
Provide program registration information services to both walk-in customers and phone-in customers.
Receive, open, sort, categorize, prioritize and stamp incoming mail. Meter and process mail and deliver to Post Office on a daily basis. Distribute or direct staff members to distribute incoming mail to appropriate personnel.
Collect and count money and make change. Reconcile till to cash receipt and prepare monies for bank deposits and weekly revenue reports. Train others to complete revenue reports and handle cash.
Perform general clerical duties, including maintaining records and logs, typing a variety of forms, materials, envelopes, labels and memoranda. Manage staff payroll and related documents, locate materials and information in records and files as required.Type program schedules/information and call program participants.
Receive and resolve public/customer complaints and problems as required. If unable to respond, direct customer to appropriate person or department.
Assist departments with distributing, receiving and mailing announcements, flyers, etc.
Order and maintain adequate stocks of office supplies for central store room. Maintain inventory records as assigned.
Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school supplemented by college-level course work in business, communications or related field and three (3) years of responsible related experience.
LICENSE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid Washington driver's license.
